Summary of Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility for the Machinist / Welder position is to provide service to Midway Machining customers in repairs or rebuilding equipment and products. Ability to learn and understand the processes and applying to projects while meeting customers’ expectations.

Job Duties Include:

  • Ability to successfully interpret and execute production using drawing, blue prints, planning and general methods.
  • Understand basic machining and /or welding principles and practices with attention to detail.
  • Able to operate a lathe, mill, measuring equipment and welder accurately.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks as the project requires.
  • Willingness to learn and apply welding processes (TIG, stick & flux core) to various parts, assemblies, and components.
  • Able to plan, organize schedule and to work independently to meet customer’s schedule.
  • Must be able to provide basic hand and measuring tools.
  • Maintain a clean work area for safety and to expedite project completion.
  • Able to work overtime, travel and work an occasional on-call shift.
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by the management.

Skills/Qualifications: Graduate Accredited Welding or Machinist Program; 2 Years Verifiable Experience; Posses Basic Mechanical Skills; Good Driving Record; Good Communication Skills; Highly Motivated, Self-Starter; Excellent Problem Solving Skills; Detail Oriented; Excellent Planning and Organizational Skills; Safety Conscious.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

The primary responsibility for the CNC Machinist/Programmer is the set-up and operation of production equipment to produce high quality product on a timely basis that meets customer requirements and schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Setup and operate production equipment to produce product that meets internal and external customer demands.
  • Program and edit CNC programs using the best sequence in order to minimize setup time and optimize quality run time.
  • Utilize proper equipment for holes, end mills, face/shell mills for milling, taps and dies for cut threads, counter bores and countersinks for bolt heads, radial saw cutters for slotting and carbide v. high speed cutting tools.
  •  Setup and use manual mills, boring mills, standard/turret/heavy lathes, radial drills and cutoff/band saws.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

2-Year Machine Tool Technology Degree and Two-year Machine Experience or Equivalent Experience in Metal Machining Processes Required; Operate Material Handling Equipment (Forklift, Man-lifts, Hoists); Knowledge and Ability to Program and Edit CNC Programs for all Machining Operations; Skilled in Using Boring Head/Bar, Drills and Reamers; Skilled in Setup and Use of Manual Mills (Horizontal & Vertical); Motivated and Willing to Learn.
